Something to consider when people stubbornly insist that Blue and Yellow Diamond are “sisters”, despite the canon fact that gems are not biologically related:

Rebecca Sugar was a fan of Sailor Moon growing up. Steven Universe is very much inspired by it. The DIC dub deliberately tried to pass off Haruka and Michiru (ie. Sailor Uranus and Neptune) as “cousins”, in order to shroud their lesbian relationship for American audiences. Knowing what we know about Rebecca, do you really think she’d want to follow DIC’s example?

‘Cause in my humble opinion, Blue and Yellow don’t look like sisters anymore than Haruka and Michiru look like cousins.

Regardless of what I have to say, your interpretations and headcanons are all correct as well.
